Need a Motivation Boost?

Today is just another beautiful day of summer. I just love this time of year because it allows me to be outdoors. That clean fresh air and cool breeze just soothes and clears my mind.

I have learned how to keep my mind clear and every day when I wake up, I think about the 1-3 things I want to accomplish for the day. I am so grateful that I have learned how to shift my mindset and focus on what is most important.

For a period, I was not able to focus on what mattered most. I would tell myself I had to do it all.  Most of the time I would get things done, but I was exhausted.  Sometimes my mind was focused so many things, I would find myself getting distracted and feeling a sense of overwhelm.

In time, I knew that for me to stay motivated, I had to take a step back and focus on three things:

  • Is this activity important and aligned with my core values?

  • Is this activity directly related to my #1 goal?

  • How important is this activity to get done today?

When I learned to start following these three simple steps, I am now able to feel more motivated to get things done because I am not overwhelmed or distracted. I am also able to accomplish what I want to get done.  Every time I complete one of my daily top three priorities, I able to get to next priority and I'm feeling motivated to do it!
